Mineral Glass – made of all natural elements like sand and soda ash – provides a level of strength, clarity, scratch-resistance, and sustainability that no other lens material in the world comes close to.

All OTIS lenses exceed the strictest Australian, USA, and European standards for quality and strength. Although Mineral Glass is the most scratch-resistant, optically correct, and sustainable lens material in the world, it is NOT scratch proof. Mineral Glass can scratch or crack under extreme pressure, severe temperature, and weather fluctuations, heavy or rapid impact or if they’re just simply not cared for properly. Damage to lenses, frames, and other components due to normal wear and tear and/or mishap/misuse are not covered under the warranty.

Disappointed with lens durability

"My Test Of Time X 1/5 stars. I bought these Otis sunglasses about a month ago, drawn in partly by the Mineral Glass lens claims. Mineral glass is marketed as scratch-resistant, so I expected it to hold up well under normal daily wear. Unfortunately, within a few weeks I noticed small scratches right in the center of both lenses — exactly where you’re looking through most. They’re subtle, but noticeable enough to distort my vision, especially in bright sunlight or against high-contrast backgrounds. I’ve been careful with them (proper case, no rough handling), so I didn’t expect this kind of wear this early."

Cannot return or reach customer service. Don't buy.

"After spending over $200 on a pair of sunglasses that do not fit, I believe that I should receive a reply to my request for a return or exchange. I have repeatedly sent emails with no response. I tried to find a phone number and the only one I could find had been disconnected. I would never order from Otis or send them money. It was $200+ shown away. Very disappointed."

Solid pair of shades that you can dress up or down; worth the price tag.

"I have the OTIS Panorama in matte black, which I love. I paid a lot for them; I was not in need of another pair. I was in La Jolla and went to a Quicksilver store and spotted the Test of Time X in Havana (brown/tortoise) and was impressed with the style and how they complimented the shape of my face. Right away, it fit on my face the same way my Panoramas did, but instead of the solid matte black, these had an iridescent brown, tortoise frame. Same OTIS mineral glass that I liked about the Panorama’s but a different look. I walked away and went home to LA, only to buy them online a few days later. I can’t recommend these enough. Worth the price tag just based on the quality and clearness of the lenses alone. Solid pair of shades that you can dress up or down."
